Virginia Gold Cup

This one is super late but better late than never??

On Saturday May 5th, the 87th World Famous Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase race took place at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia.  The VGC is a yearly spring tradition that has run in Fauquier County since 1922 and attended by over 50,000 spectators.

This rac is one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the greater Washington metropolitan area and one of the top social events of the year.  The event features six hurdle and timber horse races, Jack Russell Terrier races, Member Hill Tent (sponsored by Audi), tailgate and hat contents and booths for shopping (for those great hats!).

This year was a sunny, hot, gorgeous day.  The girls were pretty and the boys were handsome - a must for living in the metro DC/norther VA area.
